I am a PhD student in the Department of Leadership and Policy in Education, Faculty of Education, University of Haifa. My research explores communication as informal education, focusing on the inter-relations between new media, religion and culture as experienced by members of the Jewish Ultra-Orthodox society.
My Master thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Oren Golan, focused on the emerging profession of online ultra-Orthodox journalists and their involvement in the production and circulation of the communities' changing fields of knowledge. My PhD, also under the supervision of Dr. Golan, focuses on the day-to-day expressions of Jewish Ultra-Orthodox identity in various social-media platforms and the meanings participants attach to these expressions.
