Dr. Shlomi Ravid

Dr. Shlomi Ravid has been a pioneer in developing Peoplehood education. In his 30 years of involvement in Jewish global affairs he was the founding director of the Israel Center of San Francisco, the founding director of the International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies at Beit Hatefutsot and the founding director of the Center for Jewish Peoplehood Education. In 1997, while in San Francisco he developed and launched, together with the Hellen Diller Family Foundation, the Diller Teen Fellows program.
Shlomi initiated in 2008 and edits the Peoplehood Papers and as well as the educational kit – Israel: The Vision and Venture of the Jewish People. He has published over thirty articles and studies on Jewish Peoplehood and recently led the creation of the Peoplehood Education Toolkit.
Shlomi is a member of Kibbutz Glil-Yam where he was born. He is married to Linda originally from San Francisco and has four children. His PhD is in Philosophy from Tel Aviv University and academic focus is community building, Jewish Peoplehood and education.
