Dr. Gad Marcus

Born in Britain and raised in Switzerland, Dr. Gad Marcus moved to Israel after high school where he served as an officer in the IDF and worked as a SCUBA Instructor. Gad earned his B.Ed at David Yellin College in Jerusalem, got an M.A. from Tel Aviv University in Jewish Philosophy and his Ph.D. in Education and Jewish Studies from New York University. He has also been a Melamdim Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem and a Scholar in Residence at NYU’s Tikvah Center for Law & Jewish Civilization. Throughout the years he has taught at several high schools and most recently taught a class in Philosophy of Education at NYU. Passionate for the art-world, Gad worked as a director of art galleries for several years before joining the University of Haifa. Gad’s research mostly focuses on consolidating Philosophy of Education and Jewish Thought, with a special emphasis on High School Education and liberal learning.
